It’s been a busy morning at Preloved Sports CIC as we process the latest orders and drop off around 75kg of clothing at Harbour Place Grimsby who support the homeless, unemployed or otherwise socially excluded members of our community.
The donation included:
- 300 bandanas from Every Run Counts
- @oureaevents hoodies and tops
- 2 boxes of trainers
- Socks, jackets and other clothing
We know people have their opinions with regards to the homeless. They are not just another alcoholic, druggie or thug living on the street. They are people who are crying out for help, where systems have failed them. Alcohol and drug abuse comes through the homelessness as they need a lift, something that takes them away from those cold nights, the bad weather and the abuse. Many commit petty crime so they can spend a night in a warm, dry cell with food and water. They don’t chose this lifestyle.
By working with Carecent York and Harbour Place in Grimsby, and speaking to the end users, you soon realise that any one of us can be homeless.
We are extremely grateful for the support we receive through Preloved Sports. Every sale, every share, every donation (both sportswear and financial), helps us support those who are at rock bottom. Sales and funding are a vital part of our business to help cover the costs of us supporting those in need. We couldn’t do this without the support of others. Thank you. 🙏
