Allie Bailey becomes our first sponsored athlete

We’ve got some big news – ultra-runner Allie Bailey is officially joining Re-Action and Preloved Sports as our first-ever sponsored athlete! But before you roll your eyes and assume we’re about to shove another brand collab down your throat, hold up. This isn’t that kind of sponsorship.

No glossy new kit. No contracts. No discount codes. No weirdly forced Instagram posts pretending a brand-new jacket changed her life. Just a shared mission: using what we’ve got, fixing what we can, and proving that you don’t need the latest gear to explore. Athletes don’t need to be a walking advertisement.

“Consumerism is based on making you feel shit until you buy something. It plays on our insecurities and bad mental health and it’s the way the world goes round… When you think it, it’s fucking bonkers – especially in a sport like running.”

Running brands want you to buy their products. And they make loads of them. “Every season there is something new for you to buy, and you are told you NEED to buy it. But the thing is, you don’t need to buy it.”

That’s where we come in.

Re-Action exists to challenge the whole ‘buy more, waste more’ cycle that’s wrecking the outdoor industry. We fix, we share, we upcycle, we lend, we sell preloved – and now, Allie’s going to help us shout about it. Instead of grabbing fresh kit straight from the factory, she’ll be sourcing what she needs second-hand, getting old gear repaired, and proving that performance isn’t about what you wear but how you wear it.

“I felt like I belonged with these people, like I shared more than just running with them. I felt like I’d found people who I shared more than one goal with – kind, thoughtful creatures who honestly just want the best for people and planet. That’s a rare and magical thing.”

With us helping Allie track down second-hand gear, with the backing of Re-Action, Allie’s about to make a whole lot of noise about why outdoor sports don’t have to cost the earth. You’ll see our logos on Preloved kit real soon.

So here’s to running, adventuring, and doing things differently. Welcome to the crew, Allie. We’re very lucky to have you! Let’s shake things up.
