  • Trainer Armour Big Toe Hole Preventer patches are suitable for trainers and fabric shoes. It uses an applicator system to ensure the patches stick in the correct place (above the big toe area)
  • The thin self-adhesive patches fit inside your trainers, just above your big toe, and are designed to be unnoticeable after fitting
  • Outer Material: heavy density polyurethane coated nylon
  • It is best to fit Trainer Armour in new trainers to prevent big toe holes but it can also be used when a hole first becomes visible. Suitable for shoe sizes from UK 3 up to UK 12. Each pack contains a left foot applicator (with big toe hole preventer patch attached), a right foot applicator (with big toe hole preventer patch attached) and user instructions
  • Manufactured from a thin but very hard-wearing material which is abrasion and tear resistant
  • Don’t replace expensive trainers because of big toe holes, fit Trainer Armour Big Toe Hole Preventer patches to stop the holes appearing

What causes big toe holes?

Here comes the science… the condition that causes big toe holes is called hyperextension of the distal phalanx. In layman’s terms it means that every time you take a step your big toe lifts at the end. Every time your big toe lifts it rubs against the inside of your trainers, which eventually leads to a hole appearing.

Studies have shown that as many as 1 in 5 people suffer with this condition. Many people are not aware that it is a medical condition and will blame the quality of their trainers, long toe nails or having the wrong size footwear.

Trainer Armour – why do I need it?

Don’t replace expensive trainers due to big toe holes, fit Trainer Armour in new trainers to prevent the holes appearing.

Trainer Armour isn’t just for runners who are clocking up the miles, it is for the 1 in 5 of us that suffer from the medical condition that causes the holes to appear.

Throwing away a pair of comfortable shoes just because a hole has appeared, even when the rest of the shoe isn’t showing any signs of wear, is just annoying and costly. Fitting Trainer Armour in new, or nearly new, shoes or trainers extends the life of the footwear you enjoy wearing, which is good for your pocket and good for the planet.
